HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE AFTER HITTING ROCK BOTTOM

For Holly, there have been many obstacles she has faced that have disruptued her hard-working, productive self. Before her sickness, Holly worked at an agency as the chief of staff.

Being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and an auto-immune disease in 2017, Holly had to resign because her health was so bad. This gave her time to focus on her family and her hobby of blogging.

She soon realized that she needed to learn how be more productive in her blog in order to make it profitable and successful. Through Holly’s inspirtational story and experiences, she has made it back on top through learning how to be productive working from home.

According to Holly, “Being productive isn’t always about your business, it is about life.” Finding what the most important thing you have to do is, and learning how to focus on that is how to be more productive in your life. Some days the most important thing is your family, other days it could be your business. It is hard to juggle everything, make sure to focus on the most important thing that is going on.

Having the ability to give ourselves grace when we do not meet these deadlines is important advice to remember when learning how to be more productive.

HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE WORKING FROM HOME

Many times when we work from home, there are many obstacles and distractions that stand in the way of productivity. Holly states that hers are time and energy. How to be more productive working from home involves taking a step back from all those competing distractions and seeing how you need to focus your time and energy.

We only have 24 hours in a day. Sit back and ask yourself, “How can I utilize this time to be more productive?” We only have so much time to get things done when there are so many distractions going on in the world. It is more than just running a business, it is kids, a family, etc. Focus is easily disrupted, so a smart productivity tip would be to schedule around distractions going on in your home in order to learn how to be productive working from home.

BEST PRODUCTIVITY HACKS

Holly gives us some great productivity tips for working from home.

How to be more productive involves writing out a simple, two-column list with one side displaying time-consuming, high energy tasks, while the other side illustrates your easy, quick-win tasks. Do the big, important tasks when you have the time and energy. Do the administrative, knock-it-out assignments when you have those 15-20 minute windows of time free. This is a smart productivity hack as it is harder to get things done when you keep it all in your head.

Many people struggle with motivation when stuck in the house all day. Give yourself flexibility and try to do one big task a day. Not piling everything on all at once and only doing what you can, depending on your energy and time, is how to be more productive at work.

“Give yourself grace.”

KEY TO BEING PRODUCTIVE

Learning how to be productive, whether it is in your personal life or in your business, it is an important strategy for working smarter, not harder.

“Really understanding that it may not all fit into a nice, neat little bucket.” There will be competing priorities that will change how and when you are productive. A productivity tip is focusing on the most important thing in front of you.

There are so many expectations and pressures during this crazy time. How to be more productive at work or at home involves understanding that it is unrealistic to get it all done in one day. Take things one day at a time and remember to give yourself grace.
