EPISODE 023: MISTAKES WE’VE MADE (AND HOW TO AVOID THEM)

Mistakes Christina and Corinne have Overcome as Influencers

One of the first mistakes Christina has personally made as an Influencer is not following the data offered up by her blog. Such data is that provided by Google, her fans, and other analytic sources. This data is so important because you can use it so supply content to your blog: content that your fans and Google truly want to see from you. By following and catering to this data, your blog’s traffic can skyrocket and a clear path full of content and ideas can be revealed to you.

A mistake that Corinne has struggled with is not staying on top of expenses. Like Corinne says, you have to spend money to make money for your blog, but you also need to keep track of what you buy. Once you loose sight of what you have purchased, oftentimes you might find that you have bought an add-on twice, or maybe renewed an annual fee that you didn’t necessarily want for your blog again. The key to remembering what you have purchased is to stay organized. By doing so, you’ll be able to keep track of your money and assets with no issue!

More Mistakes Influencers can Make

Another area of trouble influencers commonly find themselves in is not being consistent with publishing content. As Christina mentions, it is so important to set goals and consistently meet them so that you’re not rushing to do them later. This can lead to burnout and a lack of quality material for your blog. In order to combat this, set minimal goals for yourself and make sure you accomplish them every week. Such goals can be publishing one post a week and later on adding on more material if you have the time for it. Also, your rank on Google and overall data depends on how committed you are to your tasks and goals!

Not following through on implementing new material learned from a conference, course, or other valuable source can also have a negative impact on your blog. Make sure you actually implement what you learn into your work. Its not always the most fun task to do, so encourage the process by doing the boring tasks first and then later doing the ones you enjoy most. Also, know which tasks are most important to the well-being of your blog and which ones will help you achieve goals throughout a period of time.

“Get it done and get it up there!”
