Can you walk us through seasonal changes in RPM? When can we expect to see highs and lows?
Before we further discuss this topic, we need to define RPM as a blogger you need to understand why this is important. RPM stands for Revenue Per Thousand which, is an estimated earning for every 1000 impressions. Bloggers calculate this by taking the earnings divided by traffic times a thousand.
When it comes to seasonal changes in RPM the market always fluctuates. January and July are going to be your lowest months because that’s the time the budget resets. You’re going to notice that the first month of the week is going to be the lowest. The fourth quarter is usually the time bloggers make the most money due to the holidays.
Are some blog topics more profitable than others?
Every blog on the internet has the same topic as another some are successful and some are not. Write what you are passionate about because trends change over time and the readers usually knows if the blogger is interested in the topic they’re writing about.
Growing your audience matters writing about topics that you believe the audience is going to enjoy won’t be sustainable expand your knowledge and topics. Remember that social traffic doesn’t net the same ad revenue as search traffic.
What are your best tips for improving RPM?
Do not compare your RPM to other sites is a mistake many bloggers make. Knowing how to calculate your RPM and CPM is a crucial factor as a blogger because you need to know where you are and where you want to be.
Formatting content properly to increase traffic growth and earnings take a look at your website from different devices to get an audience perspective. Make sure you have the right font size which is around eight-teen to nine-teen pixels. Lastly, never assume that you have peaked there is always room for improvement.
